Substance Abuse Treatment Through Trilogy Outpatient Services
Trilogy Outpatient Services is the branch of the Evelyn Frye Center that focuses exclusively on treatment for individuals who are experiencing problems with alcohol and/or drug use. Trilogy’s services are based on the following beliefs:

  • Alcoholism and drug dependency are primary, chronic and potentially fatal diseases that must be treated from a strategy of complete abstinence.
  • A 12-step approach to the recovery process is clearly the most effective means to establish an integrated recovery program.

Through the Trilogy program, the Evelyn Frye Center provides an intensive outpatient program designed to provide clients with a caring and supportive treatment experience while offering minimal disruption to their work and family lives. Trilogy program clients attend intensive treatment sessions three days a week, and most can expect to complete treatment within 12 to 15 visits. Sessions typically include a combination of:

  • Individual counseling
  • Group Counseling
  • Education
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Life Skills Training
  • Aftercare Counseling

If you have any questions regarding assessment and diagnostic procedures, cost, health insurance coverage and specifics regarding the Trilogy program and schedule, contact our program coordinator at 615-385-4090.

How can I tell if I have a problem?
Alcohol and/or drug dependency is not an easy condition to diagnose. At the Evelyn Frye Center, a qualified diagnostician conducts a formal interview and diagnostic testing, before rendering an opinion and addressing the need for treatment. The following questionnaire addresses some important indicators of a developing problem with alcohol and/or drug dependency:

  1. Have you ever felt that you should cut down on your use of alcohol or other drugs (including prescription drugs)?
  2. Has a friend or relative ever expressed concern about your use?
  3. Have you ever felt guilty or remorseful about your drinking or drug use?
  4. Have you ever been reprimanded, disciplined, or confronted by an employer (or school authority) about your drinking or drug use?
  5. Is there a history of problems with alcohol or drug use in your family?
  6. Have you ever been arrested, even for a few hours, because of behavior related to drinking or drug abuse?
  7. Have you ever been unable to remember all or part of the evening after some drinking and/ or drug use?
  8. Has your drinking or drug use ever created problems between you and your spouse, parent(s), or other near relative?
  9. Has your physician or any medical professional ever expressed concerns about your drinking/drug use?
  10. Have you ever been in a hospital because of drinking (drug use) or a drinking (drug) related accident or mishap?

Any single question answered "yes" could be considered an indicator of a problematic relationship with alcohol and/or drugs.

Any four questions answered "yes" would indicate a high probability of addiction and the need for a formal chemical dependency assessment.
