Kimberly D. Barnett, Psy. D.

As a Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Barnett specializes in both individual therapy and coaching for adults and adolescents. She also provides group therapy, couples counseling, and career counseling. Her experience includes work in university counseling, community mental health, and substance abuse treatment centers. She has also taught college-level psychology courses as an adjunct psychology instructor. In private practice, she is a generalist capable of addressing most mental health and coaching issues. She provides treatment from a holistic perspective, attending to the emotional, physical, and spiritual/religious needs of a person. Counseling from a Christian perspective is a specialty area.

A member of the American Psychological Association, Kim is licensed to practice as a psychologist in Tennessee, Florida, Virginia, and West Virginia. She holds a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and earned a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech.

Kim is a native of Tazewell, Virginia, a small town in the Appalachians of Southwestern Virginia. In addition to practicing psychology, she moved to Nashville to pursue interests in singing/song-writing.
