Dr. Frye has created a strong, successful multidisciplinary group practice by adhering to two basic principles: providing high-quality service, and meeting the needs of clients and referents in a respectful and professional way. Dr. Frye's adaptive management style has enabled The Evelyn Frye Center to meet the challenge of today’s volatile healthcare and business environments. Due to her constant focus on quality service and respect for the individual, the Center enjoys a superior reputation with referral sources and clients throughout Middle Tennessee and Kentucky.

Dr. Frye grew up in the Nashville area, earned successive M.A., Ed.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University.  Before starting her private practice in 1979, she taught psychology at  the high school and university levels.

She was an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Tennessee at Nashville and taught both graduate and undergraduate courses at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University as an adjunctive professor.

Throughout her career she has been active in a number of professional associations including the American Psychological Association, Southeastern Psychological Association and the Tennessee Psychological Association.  She served as a Member of the TPA Board of Directors, Co-Chair of the Professional Standards Committee and as a Vice President of the Tennessee Psychological Association.  During her tenure as Co-Chair of the Professional Standards Committee, she was instrumental in establishing the Peer Assistance Program for impaired psychologists.

Dr. Frye was the first psychologist invited to become a member of Tennessee Women in Medicine.  She is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers; is certified by six national boards and has consulting privileges at three area hospitals.

She currently serves on the Physician’s Advisory Committee (PAC) for a large Insurance Company and had served as a psychological consult for several Behavioral Health Care Organizations.

Dr. Frye enjoys her frequent speaking engagements as the keynote speaker for public and private entities.  For 18 years, she appeared in a monthly segment on Channel 5’s "Talk of the Town."  She continues to provide psychological commentary for local radio and television shows.
In addition to her administrative duties, Dr. Frye maintains an active psychotherapy practice, working with individuals, couples and groups.  She also provides training and executive coaching to individuals and organizations and forensic services for attorneys in State and Federal Courts.

Dr. Frye has one daughter and two grandsons.  She enjoys boating, hiking, camping, cycling, movies and live theater with her family and friends.
