Evelyn M. Frye, Ph.D. (President)

Dr. Frye has created a strong, successful multidisciplinary group practice by adhering to two basic principles: providing high-quality service, and meeting the needs of clients and referents in a respectful and professional way. Dr. Frye’s adaptive management style has enabled The Evelyn Frye Center to meet the challenge of today’s volatile healthcare and business environments. Due to her constant focus on quality service and respect for the individual, the Center enjoys a superior reputation with referral sources and clients throughout Middle Tennessee and Kentucky.

Dr. Frye, who grew up in the Nashville area, earned successive M.A., Ed.S., and Ph.D. degrees at the George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. Before starting her private psychology practice in 1979, she taught psychology at both the high school and university levels. In addition to her administrative duties, she maintains an active psychotherapy practice, facilitating couples and general psychotherapy groups, and workshops. She provides training and executive coaching to organizations and forensic services for court.

Dr. Frye enjoys her frequent engagements as a keynote speaker for public and private entities and always looks forward to her monthly segment on the second Tuesday of each month on Channel 5’s “Talk of the Town”.

Dr. Frye is a member of the American Psychological Association, Tennessee Women in Medicine and is listed on the National Register of Health Service Providers. She is certified by six national boards and has consulting staff privileges at four area hospitals. Dr. Frye enjoys boating, hiking, camping and cycling with her family.
