Kavitha Lakshmanan,
LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical
Social Worker with specialized
training in child psychotherapy.
Kavitha received her undergraduate
degree from Union University
in Jackson, Tennessee, and
her Master’s in Social
Work from Washington University
in St. Louis, Missouri. Her
graduate training included
clinical experience at the
BJC Hospice and a St. Louis-based
children’s bereavement
agency dedicated to helping
children, adolescents and
families cope with the loss
of a family member. She also
completed clinical training
at the Children’s Advocacy
Center of Greater St. Louis,
where she conducted assessments
and psychotherapy with sexually
abused children, adolescents,
and their non-offending parents.
After completing her graduate
studies at Washington University,
Kavitha completed a two-year
post-graduate clinical fellowship
at the Yale Child Study Center
in New Haven, Connecticut,
where she provided treatment
in the Outpatient Clinic and
in three different public
school settings under the
supervision of senior clinicians.
Her training and background
in psychotherapy encompass
a wide range of the diagnostic
spectrum, and at the Evelyn
Frye Center, she works with
children and adults.
