Geri Scheller, LCSW
Geri is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of
experience working in various settings with adults from all walks of
life and a variety of backgrounds. She received her Masters degree from
the University of Michigan and her Doctorate from Smith College.
Creating a safe environment in which the client actively participates
in the process of self discovery and change, Geri utilizes a range of
therapeutic approaches depending on an individual's situation,
challenges and goals. Informed by psychodynamic theory, Geri provides
solution based therapy assisting clients achieve the change they desire
by building on their strengths to discover new and practical solutions
to new and old problems. Putting a stop to self-blame, and addressing
the related shame allows for a more satisfying approach to life as well
as resolution of interpersonal and intra psychic conflicts. Life is
about relationships and it is at the interface between self and other
(or the internalized representation of self) that therapy works to
nurture, heal, refresh, rework and reframe. Through the therapeutic
process, energy and creativity are unleashed which in turn allows us to
live more fully in the present and to develop fulfilling relationships
infused with joy and mutual respect.
