Evelyn Frye Ph.D.

Dr. Evelyn Frye is a Licensed Psychologist. She has been providing an array of psychological services for 35 years. She holds an MA, an EdS and a PhD in psychology from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. Dr. Frye is a member of the American Psychological Association.

Currently, Dr. Frye provides coaching services, psychotherapy services and evaluation services to adults of all ages. Her practice focuses on providing professional consultation to assist individuals resolve relationship problems of all kinds, personality problems, addictive and co-dependent disorders, transitional issues occurring at all stages of the life cycle, depressive disorders, self sabotage and anxiety problems. She especially enjoys providing personal, executive, career and relationship coaching.

Dr. Frye has developed the art of holding people accountable in a compassionate and respectful manner to facilitate their growth and development. Her treatment method is collaborative, interactive and eclectic utilizing an individualized mix of modalities which may include Psychodynamic, Interpersonal, Solution-Focused, CBT, Experiential and DBT.

Dr. Frye’s approach to treatment is individualized to meet the specific needs of each client. She summarizes her philosophy as follows: “Be who you are and say what you mean because those who mind don”t matter and those who matter don’t mind”.

Dr. Frye enjoys spending time with her friends and family which includes two handsome and very intelligent grandsons. She is an avid exerciser, bicyclist, hiker, boater, adventurer and sports fan. She also enjoys attending movies, concerts and live theatre.

One of Dr. Frye’s favorite quotes is from Dr. Seuss: “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened”.

Another favorite quote is from George Takei, “In the end, only three things matter: How much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.”

One of her favorite poems is by Rumi – “With passion pray. With passion make love. With passion eat and drink and dance and play. Why look like a dead fish in this ocean of God?”
